iFunbox V0.9.257.241 is just released. [ download ]
What’s New:
1. Fix compatibility problem with iTunes 9
2. support customized shortcuts: add, rename and delete
All localization versions are updated, with original translation dictionaries.
Highlight:
Besides the built-in shortcuts, users can add customized shortcuts pointing any locations of the iPhone’s file system. Customized shortcut is added by clicking the “Add to Shortcut” item in the context menu of the folder to be pointed. The list of customized shortcuts is stored on your iPhone. So, these shortcuts will always appear on iFunbox V0.9 running on any PC.

Bisogna creare una directory/cartella nella quale inseriamo l’eseguibile di ifunbox (possibilmente l’ultima versione) e poi, ci copiamo dentro il file iTunesMobileDevice.dll che andiamo a prendere dalla cartella C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\ (x chi avesse la versione italiana di winzozz il percorso esatto è: C:\Programmi\File Comuni\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\ )
Createvi un collegamento del file exe di ifunbox (cosi’ ve lo portate sul desktop) ed il gioco è fatto (testato ieri sera, funziona!!).

with V0.9.257.241 i still can’t acces to my ipod. i have installed itunes 9 as you said V0.9.257.241 should fix this problem, it always shows me no device detected. ipod touch 2g 3.0 on windows 7.

The solution is what Valerio sayd in italian:
You must create a directory called /ifunbox (or what you want). Put inside the executable of ifunbox you downloaded and then copy into the same directory the file called iTunesMobileDevice.dll that you find at C:\Program Files\Common Files\ Apple\ Mobile Device Support \ bin\
If you want you can create a link on the desktop of the exe file of ifunbox .

At first my Touch wasn’t being recognized and iFunBox kept crashing while trying to load the device. I tried putting the .dll into a folder with it next after reading here, but that still didn’t work.
Only after 10 times playing around with things I tried what someone said recently, to put iFunBox inside the folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin
Then it finally recognizes it. So it might need multiple .dll or something that it doesn’t find regularly.
I’m guessing this is because I run 64 bit and it doesn’t search in (x86) folder? Who knows, but it works now.
And I’ve been waiting for the favorites option for forever. So thank you guys for finally adding it.

another problem that nobody reported: when copying/deleting a file on the device, changes are not shown immediately, must press F5 to refresh the view. anybody can confirm this?

iPhone 3Gs 3.0 w/Purplera1n and iTunes 9.0.1. Will be updating to 3.1.2 this weekend with Blackra1n and see how that works.

It doesnt work with 3.1.2 and apparently people say u just have to jailbreak it to be able to look at the /var. Can u release a version which will let us ssh to 3.1.2? Thanks

Thanks guys! It works great. The only problem is that it doesn’t recognize my device as jailbroken, and thus can’t access some of the files I want to. I have an iPod Touch 2G 3.1.2 jailbroken, but i-FunBox recognizes it as a 2.1 jailed iPod Touch. Any chance you guys could help me out? Also, I jailbroke with blackra1n if that could help you guys figure out the problem. Thanks!

Cydia fix released just some hours ago, afc2add solves all your problems with iFunBox, iPhoneBrowser, Winterboard, SBSettings and all similar applications with blackra1n jailbreaked iPhones.. Just open the cydia and search for afc2add and install this patch. After installation reboot your phone and you’ll be fine again.

I have an Iphone 3G, I am not really sure when you guys say 3.12 and stuff all i see is version 3.0(7A341)
I am still new to my phone even thought I have been using for a few month. Currently i am trying to find a way to transfer my iphone music into my PC. I heard that i could use the ifunbox.
I put the ifunbox into the /bin folder already. but right now i don’t know where i go @@, it give me a list of music i had put in my iphone before but, they are not in there any more @@.
I try to put music in through ifunbox but, they wouldn’t show in my iphone…
So can any one please teach me how to transfer music out of my iphone into my PC?

Hey guyss, i got my 3Gs (jailed) firm 3.1.2, i can install with iTunes 9.0.2 my apps and games cracked. But when i access to iFunBox, and go to “Raw File System”. It has only 10 folders as far! Its not even var folder, etc… :S

Help!!! I’ve been using your program for the past month but when I tried to use it last night, it says my device is not connected. This didn’t happen before. I’m currently on the FW 3.0.1 jailbroken 3GS. Is it because of the new update 3.1.2 and itunes 9.0.2? Do I need to update in order to use it again? I hope not….please let me know what I should do. hey guys, i got a 3.1.2 version ipod touch second gen. and i have a 3.0 version ipod touch second gen. i jailbroke mi 3.0 ipod with redsn0w, and it worked great with ifunbox! but mi other ipod i jailbroke with blackra1n and connected it to mi computer. it showed up in ifunbox but it said it was still “jailed” it also says 2.1iPod.. im 3.1.2 can anyone help??? thanks

I’m very pleased with this product, great job. Now, I’m the kind of guy who restores all the time to learn to tweak and such. Where in the phone/pod are the shortcuts stored so that I can back them up and restore when doing all this?

Hey. I added a folder in the ../var/stash/Themes/ directory. After the folder was created I couldn’t remove it anymore. The delete and rename buttons when I righ click the folder is disabled. How can I remove this folder?

What about any solution for recognizing the videos and songs?.. it recognizes all the rest and i’ve installed the afc2 support from cydia, tried moving the ifunbox.exe to the directory mentioned above… and still… can’t recognize my media

Benutze iTunes 9.02 und ein iPhone 3GS, Firmware 3.1.2. Das iPhone ist werksseitig Unlocked und nicht ge-jail-breaked.
iFunBox V0.9.257.241 ist der neueste Release. Laut der Entwickler ist diese Version kompatibel mit iTunes 9, trotzdem erkennt iFun Box mein iPhone nicht.
Ich habe die “iTunesMobileDevice.dll” in das Verzeichnis kopiert, wo auch die iFunBox.exe Datei ist.
Jetzt wird zwar das iPhone erkannt, aber nur die Bilder meines iPhones werden erkannt (Folder Camera).
Auf iPod Music&Video lässt sich nicht zugreifen (There are no items to show) und Meldung (Jailbreak is required).
Laut der Entwickler müsste dies aber auch ohne jailbreak möglich sein. Gibt es dafür eine Lösung?
Dieses Problem haben ja auch einige andere hier im Blog. Da ich mein iPhone nicht jailen möchte, wäre eine Lösung hierfür toll.
Auch das parallele betreiben mit iTunes ändert an dem Problem nichts.

Using iTunes 9.02 and an iPhone 3GS, Firmware 3.1.2. The iPhone is an unlocked Version (factory unlocked).
It is NOT jailbreaked and I don’t want to do so. Using iFunBox V0.9.257.241, which is the newest release. According to the Developers this Version is
compatible with iTunes 9, but iFunBox does not recognize my iPhone.
After copying the “iTunesMobileDevice.dll” into the same folder/directory where the iFunBox.exe is located, my iPhone is now recognized.
But I can only access my iPhone Pictures (Folder Camera).
An access to iPod Music&Video folders is not possible (There are no items to show) and Message (Jailbreak is required).
According to Developers it should be possible WITHOUT jailbreak. Has anybody a solution for this Problem??
I can see that many here in the Blog have the same problem.
Since I don’t want to jailbreak my Phone a solution would be great.

iFunBox will still work with the iTunes database. I used a computer with iTunes installed and MediaMonkey to sync some music to the iPhone. Once I did that, iFunBox recognized the database and I was able to add a video to the phone and after a restart of Springboard (and some patience, possibly one more sync of music from MediaMonkey), it showed up in the Videos list. Just wanted to let people know…this is on a WinXP SP3 box with iTunes 9.0.2.25, MediaMonkey 3.2.0.1294, and iFunBox 0.9.257.241. Unfortunately, still can’t get any other computer to recognize the iPhone and sync to it except the one with iTunes.

I tried a 3.1.3 jailed 1st gen with iFunBox and got nothing, however a message appears after it attempts to connect saying: Apple Mobile Device Driver is not installed and please install itunes. I’m actually in the process of updating itunes when i tried iFunBox. Does it really matter???

I have an iPhone 3G 16GB (OS 3.1.3) & it IS jailbroken but I don’t know what method was used to jailbreak it because it came jailbroken. The problem I’m having is when I run iPhoneBrowser (ver.1.9.3) it says “iPhone is connected Not Jailbroken (no afc2 service found).”
I have ALREADY downloaded & installed afc2add on my iPhone! I’ve uninstalled & reinstalled it twice. My previous iPhone 3G worked fine with this same computer. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS??? PLEASE HELP!!!
