Ideas for the Next Release

We are planning features for the next release of iFunbox: the v1.0. We call for your ideas for the future of iFunbox.
Planned features:
1. searching files
2. editing file permission with SSH installed on iPhone
3. … ( please tell us know your thoughts )

Also, we find many users are still using the v0.9 instead of latest v0.95 with music/video recovery.
Please tell us your reason of sticking on v0.9.

    Great app!
It would be good to see how many items you have selected when you’re copying stuff to your PC (like Windows Explorer, which says “xxx items selected).
    thanks so much!

  8. admin Says:

blues, Please send the crash dump to us. ( http://i-funbox.com/blog/?p=15 ).

  9. Jennyfurrr Says:

Is there any reason why I can use i-funbox on my iphone at work on windows xp, but it crashes everytime i try to use i-funbox on windows 7? Is this a known issue? I had the same problem with it crashing on my vista laptop, too.

  10. pcjonathan Says:

I would LOVE to have the following:

Ability To export passwords (for example wifi) in preferbly plain but I suppose hex might do for now.
    Backups
    ringtones

I agree with the others. Mainly screen view if it is what I think it is.

I think your S/W has some bugs on 0.95.281.247 beta version.

    I have a iphone (latest version 3.1.3)
I tried to connect my iphone.
But, This S/W didn’t shows me right directory & files.

I’m gonna change my message sound in /system/library/audio/uisound/
but, I never saw the system or library directory.

Even though, My iphone’s OS version is 3.1.3 (No hack)
But your S/W show me a word to jailed verion for my iphone.
    I don’t understand this situation.

Please, check this version on iphone (ver 3.1.3)
    thanks

  12. JoLander Says:

    Great software,
    I use 0.9 257.0241 without any problems.

I tested 0.95 281.0247 with the following result:
    1. Connection time to my iPod Touch (3G/32GB) takes about 20 seconds. In the previous version it was about 2 seconds.

    2. Scrolling in the ‘Recovery: Music& Video’ is not possible.
I have about 500 items in Music & Video. When I try to scoll the Window, I get immediately thrown back to the beginning of the list. I can sort the columns without problem, but when I scroll it shortly shows the next files but then it jumps right back to the beginning.

    Request:
Having the //user/applications displayed with their application name.

  13. Wize Says:

after clicking on Copy to PC, “cancel” has the same effect as “OK”. It copies the files even though I “cancelled”. This was a problem with the older version as well.

Also, why not a more conventional file name like “Artist - Song”? Good avenue for customization here, potentially with automatic folder creation too (”Artist - Album\Track - Song”) Admittedly a minor inconvenience when one has access to a good mp3 renamer.

  14. Asim Gilani Says:

    Very gr8 Idea.
It will be ease for all iphone users having search ability within this superb iphone software (I-Funbox).

  15. long Says:

Manage note just as “PhoneView” on mac os

  16. inernet addict Says:

hoping for next version stand alone no need to install itunes….

  17. pcjonathan Says:

I would also like it smarter as when I want to copy everything off it It thinks my iphone is 200gb+ (didn’t let it finish)

  18. Justin Says:

I just updated my iTunes to 9.1 a few hours ago as it just came out.
My i-funbox worked fine this morning before I updated iTunes.
Now when I try to connect with it, it says “Failed to locate Apple Mobile Device Support, iTunesMobileDevice.dll is not found. Install iTunes to fix it.”
I obviously have iTunes installed, but I have no clue why this is not working now.
    Help please? :)
Ive even downloaded the *.dll file, but Im not sure where its supposed to be placed in the iTunes program directory

  19. LobsterX Says:

    iTunes 9.1 just out.

current version of ifunbox cannot work. unable to find the .dll

    please update!

  20. majkool Says:

+ version stand alone no need to install iTunes
    + screen view
+ show application names in /var/mobile/Applications
+ show file date/time in “File View”
+ when making multiple selection in “File View” show in statusbar how many files are selected and total size.

    + fix with iTunes 9.1.0.79.

  21. Bolko Says:

    Show applications names in /var/mobile/Applications.
    ;-)

  22. nXt Says:

Looks like iTunes 9.1 broke iFunBox.
ifunbox now says “failed to locate apple mobile device support, itunesmobiledevice.dll is not found. install itunes to fix it.”

  23. pepe Says:

    「iTunes 9.1」にアップグレードしたら、やはりというか「iPhone」の認識が出来なくなりました。
    アップデートを切に望みます。
    対応は4/3の「ipad」リリース後でしょうか?

  24. Daddio Says:

Add support for file transfer while iPhone is in “Recovery” mode.

I had a jailbreak attempt hose the OS and it would reboot every couple of minutes while trying to boot up. Funbox would connect, but I could only transfer a couple of files at a time before the connection would drop from the next reboot.

However, the iPhone would sit in “recovery” mode forever, so that would enable me to backup my files and recover from the issue.

Thank you. I love your utility.

  25. mfleigle Says:

I wish you could add the option to disable symlinks. I miss the old i-funbox releases that didnt support symlinks (much easier to backup the entire device)

  26. someone Says:

    working without having iTunes installed.

  27. Teul Says:

    Wishlist:
    - Enable users to transfer music/video files from pc to iphone
    - Display App Store application names in front of their meaningless folder names

I think these two features are among the most importants ones.

Thanks for developer, I would like to consider a donation in the future if the upcoming version ifunbox could carry these fonctions.

  29. Chan Says:

    Search will be ideal.

I would like to have Notepad like editor incorporated, specially to edit .plist files

  30. Chan Says:

Also in line with Windows Explorer look and feel is much desired.

  31. Andrew Says:

being able to write/ edit “//var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE”

in that way, you can use you iphone or touch on a computer as a usb hard drive ( files would be visable in my computer/ ipod directory) even if you cant access i-FunBox.exe

Adding this would be so cool cause it would really add portable hard drive as a feature

  32. Erick Says:

    Please add export/import contacts

  33. Jerry KX Says:

Please PLEASE add file permission editing to ifunbox. I love you guys already, but with that it will make ifunbox PERFECT!!! I will make a second donation!

    Please add file permission editing!

Thanks so much (even without permissions…)

  34. admin Says:

Yes, totally agree, we are working on permission editing and terminal access.

  35. Marius Says:

Can you back up applications with iFunBox? Back up everything on iPod Touch without using iTunes?
I’m new to this stuff. I’m looking for the best program to do this. I still haven’t Jail Broken my ipod touch, nor upgraded to OS4.
