love the program but i have a suggestion
bump #1 to #2 and drop the rest down and the new #1 should be:
Ability to set permissions from the app
right click a folder and be able to set permissions for the folder and the contents of the folder.
im not sure if this is even possible with this type of browser or if SSH is the only way but either way, let me kno

Your tool is just incredible.
One small thing is that it does not interpret symlink correctly.
Great job !!

Amazing application. Works perfectly!
Have some suggestions to be the best:
1. Insert a ringtones folder (like the wallpaper one) to easily transfer ringtones, if possible converting automatically from wav/mp3 to m4r. I know that you can navigate in the raw file system and find the ringtones folder, but it’s not so obvious. And if if could convert the music files would be fantastic!
2. Add ability to set permissions to files
Congratulations for the great job and keep the great work on!

Thanks for your suggestion. these features requires a daemon running on iPhone. In case of winscp, it is OpenSSH. We are using another way based on Apple Mobile Device Support library (used by iTunes) to communicate with iPhone, which is much more faster.
We are planning to have a hybrid solution to use a daemon for handling these features. Please wait for the next release.

So much wishes for permissions control. We will definitely add this feature in the next release but a deamon on iphone will be necessary.

Yes… I think that the “Permission Control” will be the big feature (because with this feature will be possible to “hack” the “MobileInstallation” file for upload cracked Applications from the AppStore!!! (we don’t will need the Cydia or Installer!!, the greatest applications are in the AppStore!)
I want to upgrade to 2.1 firmware and use only the AppStore/iTunes to upload apps, but If there’s no Permission capability, I can’t change the “MobileInstallation” permissons for work with the cracked file.
But, why it’s needed a deamon inside iPhone for set file permissons????
Thanks for the App!! It’s great!!
Regards!!

I use my iPod touch more for photos than for music, so when my hard drive crashed on the PC, I am most interested in recovering the pictures.

Maybe there is some metadata somewhere, too, so you can get better filenames when you bring them to the PC, like you do with the music.
The above hyperlink has a discussion on how to convert the .ithmb files; this is a good start.

I would like to suggest a feature to add your own navigation favororites/shortcuts for directories on the iphone. Similar to google iphone browser.
This would make navigation using ifunbox very easy. It is the only feature missing (apart from permissions editing) that would make ifunbox 10/10.
thanks

setting permission would be really cool.. no need to use openssh. add this feature and ifunbox will be rated as 11/10 hehe.
